The last day of any trip is always the hardest, but we tried to soak in every last moment. My mom and I started our morning, as usual, at the hotel’s continental breakfast. One of the things I love most about this hotel is how even the free breakfast feels special — you get to sit by the window and watch the Historic District come alive.

Surprisingly, this ended up being the prettiest day of the trip, with clear skies and sunshine, but it was still freezing. At least we finally got a break from the clouds!

We packed up our room and headed out for one last little adventure on Broughton Street. Our first stop? Byrd’s Cookies — again. We had to restock after snacking on our stash the night before (no regrets).

Then we made our way to the Parisian Market Café for one final round of coffee before lunch. We ended the trip with a cozy meal at Kayak Kafé, where we lucked out with a warm indoor seat and a view of a nearby parade. It was the perfect low-key way to wrap up the weekend.

None of us wanted to leave, but eventually, we had to finish our food and hit the road. I got to ride with B and my mom back to Jacksonville before we split up — me heading to Tallahassee, and them back to Gainesville.
Before we split up though, we tried to stop and get some free fresh squeezed orange juice at the Florida state line, but they were closed for the MLK holiday. This is the second time the visitors center has been closed when I’ve tried to go — maybe one day I’ll get my orange juice!

All in all, it was such a lovely and memorable way to celebrate my 28th birthday. I’m so thankful we were able to take the time to explore Savannah together — and I’m already looking forward to our next girls’ trip ❤️
P.S. I think he liked our “something silly” souvenir.
